Julia joined the Secretariat in October 2025. A lawyer by background, she has longstanding experience in the areas of professional and auditor oversight, with a focus on international cooperation. Before IFIAR, she worked for the respective German national audit regulators for more than 15 years where she last led the Division for EU and International Affairs and represented Germany in the IFIAR Board and the Plenary. She was in an advising role to the first Chairman of the Committee of European Auditor Oversight Bodys (CEAOB) to implement the changes in the auditor oversight cooperation framework from the 2016 EU Audit Reform and ensure robust communication and cooperation between national audit oversight authorities in Europe.
She was the initiator of the IFIAR Outreach Project, an initiative to actively promote the concept of independent audit oversight with organisations and governments across the globe. Together with the Secretariat team, she supports the IFIAR Officers, the Board, Working Groups and Task Forces in fulfilling IFIAR’s mission.
